4.5-4.75 stars. Oh I wish I could buy all of AMS's books and give them to everyone in the world to read. These books are humorous and entertaining but most of all, they are lessons in small kindnesses, and how much of a difference they make in the world.

Another great chapter in McCall Smith's 44 Scotland Street series that further develops the life stories of a cast of colorful characters related to the Edinburgh apartment building at said address. Bertie, I believe, actually turns seven during the days this book unfolds--and there are some very interesting developments in his & his family's lives.
