I enjoyed reading Fitzgerald's first novel very much, although I don't think it will stick in my mind as much as his later works. The central character, Amory Blaine, is clearly a self-portrait and the novel is heavily autobiographical, based on his own schooldays and Princeton days and early love affairs. I was interested to see how much Fitzgerald includes about his reading at every stage of his young life, with endless names of authors, many now forgotten, and brief discussions of their works

Another read on my iPhone's Serial app. Found the last 1/4 of this first Fitzgerald novel the most enjoyable and interesting. Shades of literary genius to come.
