this is collection of Norse mythological stories that would be good to use in an elementary or middle school classroom. The stories are short and beautifully illustrated.

This is an excellent book to introduce children to Norse Mythology. We loved the illustrations. We read this as part of our Middle Ages history lesson about the Vikings.

I loved the D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths so much that I bought a copy of their Norse Myths book at BookExpo.
I liked Norse Myths a lot, but...not as much as Greek Myths.
Why?
The creatures in the Norse myths are not familiar to me. I had to keep looking up the definition of "jotun" and "Aesir god" and "fire demon" and I couldn't remember how they ranked with each other. I also was not familiar with the Norse mythological gods and I kept having to look up who "Loki" and other creatures are and ho ...more
