This book is worth 3.5+ stars. It's a romance novel with some interesting twists. The writing is not especially sparkling, but it moves along well, and is good for a light read.

I am amazed at how wonderful this book is!!! Especially considering how much I hated the last book I read by Ms Kleypas (Wicked Sinful Midnight Kiss of Seduction, or something or other, can't quite remember exactly, and it doesn't matter ...) - the first chapter of this book was included at the end of that book, and it was pretty good, and next time I went to the library they happened to have it on the shelf, so I got it, and ... I just LOVE it!! I'm about a third of the way through, and so far

This was my first Lisa Kleypas book, but it certainly will not be my last. I had started a few pages earlier, but today when I picked it up, I literally could not put it down until it was finished. It was so much more than I expected: not merely a romance but a story of a young girl who did the right thing and made the right choices, no matter how hard it was for her to do so, or what the consequences were.
