This is a book of short stories. Interesting subject matter where children are the main characters but left me unsettled after reading.
Yep, I struggle with magical realism for the most part.
Russell has a great gift for taking a very kooky one-sentence idea (such as that described in this volume's title) and working through its practical implications in an insightful and creative way. A rich and absorbing collection.
