While the story is a bit far-fetched, I can see why the author wanted Sita to travel across the globe as she did. I also liked that the book managed to wrap a very serious, sad and depressing topic like human trafficking into a fairly good thriller and thus rather easy to read - some might critize that but I found this easier to deal with than truly hard-hitting movies lile Lilya 4-ever that haunted me for a long time. Five stars for the emotional impact of this book. I knew where it was going, but how it got there was the thing. Child sex trafficking is the main theme of this book, following the terrible events that happen to two sisters who become seperated after a tsunami and their trusted rescuer leaves them to be sold to traffickers. This was so well written I enjoyed it much more than expected. Although it covers human trafficking, the author did an amazing job at describing India. It covered a hidden world I'm no familiar with which was definitely an eye opener.

Although the author does a commendable job of illustrating the plight of young women who are sold in the sex trade, I didn't really learn much new about the subject which has already been examined in minute detail by a number of authors in fictional accounts such as this or nonfictional exposes.

You can tell that this author isn't a writer by trade. The writing style is very basic but straightforward. But I thought the tale was gripping and I very much cared about the outcome for the two sisters.
