I don't usually like "chick lit" so I wouldn't normally consider a Sophie Kinsella novel, but this book got SO much praise, people said the audiobook was just so funny and entertaining, I had to try it. After DNFing two audiobooks in a row, I was really in the mood for funny and entertaining. Alas. Today is just not my day. This is the same reader I didn't like in the last book I DNFed! This makes THREE DNFs in a row, all within 24 hours. Unprecedented, and hopefully never to be repeated.

Ok the whole beginning of this book is ridiculous. Poppy loses her engagement ring and then her cell phone is stolen. She freaks out because without her cell there's no way anyone can contact her if they find the ring. Then she finds a cell phone in a trash can and decides it's her new phone number. The phone actually belongs to Sam Rockton's PA and he wants the company phone back. Once you get past how ridiculous this all is the book is quite fun and I really like Sam.

Classic Sophie Kinsella. I loved it the way I loved the Shopoholics in the beginning! Are you reading these reviews Sophie? I NEED a sequel! I loved the main character, I loved the storyline, I loved the twists and turns that made me not put it down. I HAD to read it in one sitting... because I knew how it would end... but I desperately wanted to see it happen. Chick lit at its finest!

I have been disappointed in Ms. Kinsella's most recent books especially mini shopoholic. But this proved to be as good as they once were... In the early days of ms. Bloom wood. That being said.... Very entertaining read in between thick heavy novels.
