More of a nice cozy romance than a mystery, in fact, the mystery really isn't even needed for this to be a sweet story of an American librarian dumped by her boyfriend who goes on a trip to England she was supposed to with that ex-boyfriend and meets a much nicer English man there and has friendly romps around England with him as they slowly fall in love. The scenes are very comfortable and the characters all have well described personalities. All in all, a fun read. ...more

Karen Nash is a librarian in Minnesota who is all set to travel to London for the first time with her boyfriend when he dumps her. Karen decides to take the trip anyway even though her ex-boyfriend is on the same flight with a new woman. Karen stays at a b&B where a fellow guest is soon murdered. This book was really more of a combination of romance and mystery. Karen really doesn't do a lot of investigating into the death and basically lucks into figuring out the killer. An easy, light read. ...more

A little too much and they all lived happily ever after for me, but the bits about differences in meaning between American English and British English were amusing.

This is a delightful little mystery featuring my favorite main character: a librarian! This is the story of a Minnesota librarian who goes to London, confronts the boyfriend who just dumped her and thinks she is getting him killed, finds a dead body at the B&B where she is staying, and manages to fall in love - although she is afraid the man she is falling in love with is the killer. A very good read!
