Two different magazine reviews assured me that this book would be wonderfully funny, even laugh-out-loud funny. Let me assure you: this book was Not Funny. I didn't even crack a smile. This book is about three grown women (a mom and her two 50ish daughters) who are basically set adrift in their lives and appear to be completely alone except for each other - they seem to have no other close or lasting relationships (except for Anne who has two grown sons who have moved out of her house). I enjoyed this book from start to finish and thought all of the characters were quirky, interesting and so flawed in a fun way. I would like to go to one of Cousin Lou's parties and be like family. ...more
