Gave up after making it to about page 70--she slept with 2nd guy she'd just met and the story wasn't moving at a pace I could take. Lovely language.
I'm to chapter 7, which is only page 56! So far I like the premise of the story and the main characters, but I still can't be sure I like it...it's compelling enough to keep at it. Usually this happens when I finish a "super" book--like White Woman on the Green Bicycle--which I did a few days ago.
Beautiful language--the writing is like poetry. Still ...more

I found this incredibly pretentious. The characters felt like distant mouthpieces, voicing profound 1-sentence thoughts. For a book about grief, this felt altogether too light and whimsical.
