This book reminded me of Big Little Lies (domestic violence) and What Alice Forgot (woman awakes with amnesia) by Liane Moriarty, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed both of those two books. Maybe it’s because both of those books were highly focused and didn’t try to do so many things at once?

The story of Cassie who is found injured in a graveyard suffering from amnesia. I liked the beginning and the end sections of the book but in the middle, where Cassie is telling us her life story, I felt it read like a Danielle Steel novel. Considering the tough subject which is the core of the story I felt the characters were two-dimensional and didn't bring it to life enough for me.

Jodi seems to use current themes for her novels and this one is domestic violence. So far it is my least favourite of her books. She could leave out the whole middle section, which appears to me to rather overdo the "perfectness". Predictable.
