I enjoyed hunger games a bit more, but this book truly did pick up steam near the end. I am curious what happens next.

This dystopian YA novel felt more than a bit derivative of The Hunger Games,
and at times the writing felt very repetitive. BUT...that didn't stop me from rushing
through to the end of this first installment of the series. Plus I earned "cool" points
from the nieces for reading it. ...more

what a waste of good reading time. obviously written to be made into a movie, predictable, boring. I even tried to imagine myself as a thirteen year old girl reading it and still found it boring
