This dystopian YA novel felt more than a bit derivative of The Hunger Games,

This is a book for young people. I read because it was so highly rated on Goodreads, and I loved Hunger Games, but this was not as clever or well written. It was an interestingpremise, but most of the book was just elaborate fighting, the heroine going through initiation trials, and a somewhat exciting ending. It made me appreciate Hunger Games all the more for its universal appeal. Still the author of this book is 22 years old and good for her to write such a book popular with young readers!
