Thoroughly enjoyable, largely because the plotline is perfectly suited to the book's era - the idea of having your dirty laundry aired publicly has a much higher sting factor in Victorian England than it does in our current share-happy social media culture. Alexander's characters sparkle, and I'll definitely have to work my way backwards to previous entries in the series. ...more

While I enjoy reading about Victorian life in Britain, there is a decided sameness to the plots of all the books in this series which makes me think I have read the book before, (though I had not)
