A fun read that Doctor Who fans will especially enjoy.

The book's writing style is amusing enough to maintain interest in finishing it, but i found it difficult to find any real attachment to any of the characters; the plot seemed too fast paced and the ending was extremely abrupt! I get that the world being painted is quite far fetched and i admire the author's humorous style in drawing anologies to the real normal world, but i just couldnt keep up with the pace, and lost interest towards the end when i found myself rushing through it - luckily it

I know this is a beloved early sci-fi book and I kept feeling bad that I did not love it. There were some fun ideas:the manically depressed robot, the guide on what is really a kindle, the big questions and the answer it took the computer 7 millions years to come up with. But I did not panic - because of Goodreads - I had more fun reading a ton of reviews - it is like I had a giant discussion about the book with a lot of people with differing opinions and different interpretations of the book.

We hadn't made it 4 minutes into the book (listening with our kids) before hubby said to turn it off. :( I had always heard such good things about it.
