The title comes from a particular sexual intercourse technique, though it's also meant to be a (blackly comic) metaphor (as in truly fucked) for Singapore's fate in the wake of its February 1942 capitulation to the Japanese. I really enjoyed this book as it takes a critical look at British colonialism in Singapore as the Japanese are closing in on the island. Walter Blackett represents the old guard who is constantly yearning for "the good old days" in Singapore and his children seem to share a similar attitude. However a cast of characters from his children's generation may feel differently. While there isn't a riveting plot I still really enjoyed it for the social commentary.
