Whenever I need a good dose of apathy, I pick up a book by Bret Easton Ellis. He writes in a voice that's as jaded as it gets. Nothing he writes into the storyline should come as a surprise, because the narrator certainly isn't telling us anything we "haven't already heard." And I get it. It's about undoing the social stigma(s) that get in the way of finding fulfillment--demonstrated here by lots and lots of sex. Everywhere. With everyone, and anyone. Often intentionally.
