Sparks gets his characters in some pretty horrible situations but it all turns out with a satisfactory ending, teaching some important life lesssons along the way.

This was my first Nicholas Sparks novel, and it was not nearly as bad as I was expecting! Good writing even if the plot is ridiculous.
