I first read this book when I was way too young to read it in the first place. Some years later I reread the book and I got a completely different tone from the book.
What I love about this book is that it elevated erotica from the mechanical into the psychological. I read this book in my late 20's and it bothered me so much that a woman would submit herself, not just to bondage, but to slavery in such a demeaning way. This isn't a bondage/sexual book as much as a story about male power over female submission.
