What Members Thought

I love magical children's books, but this was too sci-fi for my taste. In addition to the clumsy writing and awkward dialogue the general view of the characters and the story felt a bit superficial. Just because it's for children, doesn't mean you can be sloppy. Direct religious references in children's books also make me uncomfortable.

I appreciate fantasy so much more as an adult than as a child. I think the cover alone terrified me away from this book when I was little. Now, I find that I really enjoy it! I wish Meg was less whiny, and I want more time with Aunt Beast. However, I can see myself rereading this again and still enjoying it. Looking forward to passing it on to my fifth graders.

I've just started re-reading this with my daughters, and wow I forgot how truly excellent it is! Sometimes childhood favorites can be very disappointing when you revisit them, but happily that is NOT the case for A Wrinkle in Time.

This is a kids book, and I was a bit (a lot) bored reading it. The whole sci-fi/space travel is not so much my thing also. I may have enjoyed it when I was younger but I think I may have missed my window.

One of my all time favorites.
