I finished the last two books in Cormac McCarthy's Border Trilogy, "The Crossing" and "Cities of the Plain" Almost wish I had started out with "All The Pretty Horses" because it had been so long since I read it. McCarthy manages to take the bleak, harsh realities of life -- particularly male life stripped of civilization -- and turn them into these eerie dirges on the human experience.
