Most of the time movies do not do books justice; in this instance I believe the movie worked much better in its representation, as far as appealing to me.
To be honest, this book was just way too busy. Way too busy. Forrest had too much happen, too often. After awhile it just wasn't believable, and a book needs to be believable within its own world. Perhaps if this had been a Tom Robbins book I could have bought the story, but as it was, I found myself looking forward to the ending about halfway ...more

A trip to space. An orangutan sidekick. Cannibals in New Guinea. Professional wrestling. Enough said. This book was even sillier than the (in my opinion) overrated film.
