The third book in the series. Dexter's dark Passenger runs away when its scared by something at the scene of two bodies that have been burned with their heads cut off. Dexter spends most of the book moping around wondering where his Dark passenger has gone off to. There is some dark humor, mostly in regards to Dexter's upcoming wedding. Another bang-up job from Lindsay - his juxtaposition and inversion of our ideas of the mundane and the horrific is impressive indeed. Dexter's new worry is one of those perfectly creative concepts that manages to be both elegant and simple at the same time, not to mention very deftly done. Lindsay finds his groove with this third book in the Dexter series. Dexter's getting married, there's something off with his soon to be step-children, and we learn more about the Passenger. Oh, and of course, there's murder and mayhem.
