What more can happen to a girl in the first 20 pages of this book!
I think what made this book special was because Sarah is actually a real person and there are truths woven throughout this story and the history of the State of Arizona.
I also find it interesting because being from Utah, a lot of us have relatives who crossed the plains and had their struggles along the way with everything this book entailed. So I found it very interesting what people endured to try to create a better life.

I listened to this historical fiction on audio. It was fabulous, based and read like a diary. It took a little time to get used to the language, as it is read like they talked in the 1800s.
