Sort of a profile of Mr Kimble by describing his three wives and their relationships with him. This is really a set of three novellas (one for each Mrs Kimble), each one seems as depressing as the last. Written with an omniscient voice, but yet I still feel like I'm on the outside looking in, I never truly feel like I get inside the protagonist's head. It feels like this is what the author THINKS a person would feel in this situation, rather than really what the character is feeling.

We get to know Mr. Kimble through his three wives. A first wife who struggles to keep herself together after his desertion; a second wife who sees Mr. Kimble as her last hope for a family and happiness; and a third wife half his age. This is a fascination read letting us get close to people's mant needs.

Mrs. Kimble is actually
three people: the first,
second, and third wives of
Ken Kimble. I was intrigued
by the structure of the novel,
the way the author revealed
Ken Kimble's character through
his relationships with his
various wives. A good read.

Zippy enough, but didn't really hold my attention or leave me with any lasting impressions other than wanting to shout, "Grow a spine, woman!"
