I am a librarian, so I love any book or series where the library is front and center, and the main character is a librarian. It helps if there is a murder, but the murders are really secondary to cozy mysteries for me.

I enjoyed this first in a series and I plan to read more.

Lindsey Norris is the director of the Briar Creek Library. Her friend Beth who is also the children's librarian is a suspect in the death of her former boyfriend who plagiarized a children's book Beth was writing. The towns police chief is incompetent, though there is a good state detective on the case, so of course Lindsey decides she needs to investigate. I liked the characters and the setting. This is a great little cozy mystery set in a library in a New England town. It is a fast read and has an interesting set of characters and a good plot. I will definitely be reading more in this series. I also enjoy the author's other series involving - yum! - cupcakes! ...more
