The plot is secondary to the information about life and relationships in India and Pakistan. Getting along with other people is something that everyone should take note of.

I enjoyed the earlier books in the series but this one seems especially good. When Vish Puri takes on the case of the murder of the father of Pakistan's star cricket player, painful issues of Partition in the history of the two countries and even within Vish's own family come to light. The huge cast here makes it feel overstuffed in places, but Hall does a very nice job in bringing India alive in both its good and bad points. Puri's an interesting guy and the sort of investigator you root for. ...more
