All of the reviews I've read of this book seem to be by people who knew of Josh Ritter first as a songwriter and second as a novelist. I've never heard a single song he's written, but if they're anything like this book, I'm already a fan.

I liked this feel of this book. It felt very magical, and I felt very drawn into the setting. Unfortunately the setting I was drawn into was actually about one hundered years before the novel actually takes place, so I kept getting confused.
I wish there was more character developement. The characters were somewhat interesting, but with more back stories and development, I think they could have been amazing.
