The book started out well enough - good background mystery, lovely setting, likable main characters......and then.........it just dragged on and on and on. The dog training was interesting for the first few chapters and then I couldn't figure out why there was so much of it in the story. And the whole Fiona / Simon relationship was so stereotyped - Fiona "I'm a strong independent woman and I don't need any help" and Simon "I'm a hulking guy and I'll protect you" blah, blah, blah. ...more

The saving grace of this book beyond it being a sort of cutsey, romantic mystery is that you learn about search and rescue dogs. I'm not sure the training goes quite as easily as the heroine makes it seem but the process of search and rescue is interesting. ...more
