A solid read about the Armenian genocide by Turkey during WWI. The horrific nature of the Turkish actions taken against the Armenians is interspersed with a love story and a series of flash forward events involving the granddaughter of the happy couple, who goes on a quest to learn more of this time in history and the role that her grandparents played.
At the end of the book, Bohjalian, who is an Armenian himself, provides some interesting additional insight about the book. It's amazing ...more
