Wow, what a way for Picoult to take a great topic full of controversy and then end in such a weak way. I hate lazy writing! Picoult also took this approach with The Pact, and except for Nineteen Minutes, where she semi-redeems herself as an author, I refuse to read anymore of her books. I feel so bad for the family's other kids in this book. The mother is a wretched character who basically uses her one kid to save another. if you seen the movie, I say read the book. it's the same but not as much as you think it is.
I knew of this book for a while ow, but i didn't know what's it was all about, but of course, I ended up letting it piled up in my TBRs for the longest time. Until the movie came....
I have a soft spot in anything that's being regard as a "spare part child". It has become an itch, or a peeve if you may, an issue this book has managed to portray.

I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I got it for a book club, and picked it up while I was getting ready to go out one day, figuring I'd put it back down and leave. However, I was making myself late trying to read a little more, and so I took it with me and read obsessively all weekend. I thought the changing narrators was done well and was interesting, and the plot kept moving quickly and kept me interested. One caveat: I am a big hypochondriac so I am predisposed to like books
