I became completely caught up in this book. The writing is fabulous, the scenery gorgeous and I really enjoyed the storyline. The book is about a woman who lives alone in the woods and is given guardianship over her niece and nephew after her sister has been murdered by her husband.

I thought that Frazier did a great job in making this slow-moving tale completely absorbing. I found the characters to be unique and interesting, and I was satisfied by the ending, which is no small feat for me as a

Charles Frazier is a virtuosic storyteller with a fabulous insight into human nature. He introduces us to Luce, a young woman who inherited her murdered sister's twins. Before the twins, Luce lived a solitary life in the appalachians. The twins open her life in difficult, hopeful, dangerous but happy ways. She learns to trust, love and truly live life once again.
