This is, I believe, the 14th mystery I've read by Ms Reichs. Either she is getting a little too set in her ways, or I'm just getting tired of her ways, because I'm finding myself increasingly dissatisfied with her books. They are too coy, too smug, too "clever." Every chapter ends with a coy cliffhanger. Enough! Other than that, the book was enjoyable - I liked the new character, former detective Gallimore.

A body is found sealed in a drum at the landfill next to the Charlotte Motor Speedway and Temperance Brennan is called in to handle the case. Wayne Gamble believes the body might be that of his sister or her boyfriend both of whom disappeared from the speedway 12 years ago. Tempe finds herself promising Wayne that she'll help investigate his sisters case.

A solid 3.5 stars. I really like this series. As always, a good mystery and excellent forensics. I really like "Skinny" Slidell and was glad to see him again. It will be interesting to see what happens with Cotton Galimore in the next book.
