I'm not going to give this book a rating, mostly because I don't want to incur the wrath of Twilight lovers. I've had too many friends tell me that this book was "crack." Well, I guess I'm immune. Twilight was...boring. It's easy to finish it quickly, especially since so many words are repeated, such as "good looking," but that doesn't mean that the plot is revolutionary, or even particularly stimulating. I don't understand why Edward captivates so many readers. All I know at this point is that

A friend loaned this to me; I'm always a sucker for a vampire story, so I looked forward to reading it. Yeah, all the negative reviews crying MARY SUE are dead on. In fact, I assumed that this book started as a Buffy/Angel 'shipper fanfic when the author was younger and then she just changed enough relevant details to get it published; I was shocked and rather disbelieving when I read that she never watched those TV shows. But despite all that, it's a fun read, a guilty pleasure. No truly redeem

i don't really understand all the hype about this book.
i thought it was trite, uninteresting, and poorly written. i realized this book is for young adults, but there were times i laughed aloud at the way the narrarator continually described her teen romance with a vampire with the most cliche phrases possible.
for me, this was definately a young adult book that is for young adults and i'm not sure i understand why so many adults are reading it. i was hoping maybe it had just a touch of that harr ...more

I don't know how to adequately describe or critique this book. I felt very guilty 90% of the time that I was reading it. I also felt ridiculous to be putting myself in the shoes of a 17-year-old girl and too often envying her. I mean, it's just really ridiculous. However, I was handed the book yesterday and I'm finished with it now. i.e., I had a really good time reading it. And yeah, I'm properly embarrassed about how much fun I had, but gosh darn it -- it was fun.

OKAY YES I READ IT. Actually, given to me by a non-booky-type as a must-read, and an interesting cultural artifact in that sense. I kinda thought it was junky foodie fiction, but don't get me wrong - I ate it!

It was a quick read that you don't have to think about alot.

This gets three stars because I couldn't stop reading it, even if it is poorly written, just generally juvenile, and infused with narrow-minded politics. Also, I have serious doubts about whether stephanie meyer has ever been within 100 miles of forks (or in fact in the state of Washington at all. We don't have grizzly bears).

I jumped on the bandwagon, possibly trying to remember some of the books (Vampire Diaries) I read while I was younger. The writing is gushy, the images are over descriptive and the story has been done before, but it isn't all that bad for a fast read.

This book is SO addictive! I am kind of annoyed with Bella and the book is not well written at all! But oh the rest of the books will be read in quick succession very soon!
