I’ve gone back and forth with whether or not to read this book since it was first published in 2010. So, when it was offered as a $4.95 download in an Audible audio book sale, I decided to give it a try.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter is a solid blend of history and fantasy. Seth Grahame-Smith interweaved the two so well that it is hard to tell what is real history and what is from his imagine (well, vampire hunting aside, that is). As a history buff, I always love when historical

I kind of loved this book. I enjoy alternative history in general and also have a soft spot for vampires, so it's not entirely surprising. However, I think I enjoyed it even more as I've spent the past two weeks teaching the American Civil War to my Japanese elementary students...which forces you to start looking at our country's history though new ideas anyways. I actually liked this book. Surprise. I didn't think I would but it was a fun tale to embark on. I can see this wouldn't be in everyone's tastes - but I had fun reading it. Makes me want to learn more about Abe and Mary Lincoln's histories. ...more

This was a fun historical novel to read . Very detailed and definitely different from the movie itself . Loved the ending .

I didn't expect that I would enjoy this book!! I always love Abe Lincoln and despite every crazy thing the author wrote about him in this book, I love him even more! Vampires were the cause of the Civil War? Abe Lincoln was one of the best hunters of all? Crazy, absurd, but interestingly, really convincing! Entertaining, enjoyable. A pure delight for any fantasy/historical fiction enthusiast. ...more
