I was interesting to go back and read this one after having recently finished "W". Although by the calendar 32 years have passed, not so in Kinsey's world and though I knew a bit more about her friends and acquaintances than she reveals in her first outing, her character has remained remarkably consistent. Shelves: series, own, mystery
I'm new to the series, and I must say that I will definitely read more of this series as time goes on. It's not deep, but I found the "mystery" to be engaging, and I'm warming up to Kinsey Malone. I need to understand more about her character before I make any judgments.

I understand that Grafton is up to "U" now so I have much on which to catch up, but we'll see how things go over time. Overall, I enjoyed this one. It's a nice break from my customary reads, many of which are quite heavy.

Despite being a devotee of mystery in all its forms, for some reason Grafton has never made it to the top of my to-read stack. It really is somewhat nonsensical, since I remember my mother reading the early entries avidly and our speculation about what the title of Kinsey's next adventure would be.

Kinsey Millhone is a former policewoman turned private investigator in this first novel of the series by Sue Grafton. Her client is a woman recently released from serving a prison term for murdering her husband. She wants Kinsey to prove that she was innocent. The investigation does find the person responsible for his death as well as another previously unsolved murder.
