I'm new to the series, and I must say that I will definitely read more of this series as time goes on. It's not deep, but I found the "mystery" to be engaging, and I'm warming up to Kinsey Malone. I need to understand more about her character before I make any judgments.
I understand that Grafton is up to "U" now so I have much on which to catch up, but we'll see how things go over time. Overall, I enjoyed this one. It's a nice break from my customary reads, many of which are quite heavy.

Hmm, I don't really read thrillers and maybe this is why. the book itself was fine, I suppose. kinsey herself kind of a cliche and jeez lady, we get it, you don't like fat people or dogs. Watch out dog lovers for the random unjustified animal cruelty. (view spoiler) I *might* give the next one a go

This book was interesting and kept my attention but I found it underwhelming and somewhat easy to predict who the criminal was. A fun light mystery.
So...I chose this for the Read Harder Challenge: A Book Published the Year You Were Born. Um, it felt like it was published in the early 80s. The mystery unfolded in the manner of a Columbo-style detective show with repeated suspect interviews and a very step-by-step plot progression. I might not have disliked it so much if I hadn't listened to it? I dunno...it wasn't my jam.

I had put off reading this because I have several detective series "on the go" but I'm glad I read this now. Will take time collecting the rest though.
