I really enjoyed this one, much more than I thought I would. Oftentimes "important" books get so bogged down in big themes (particularly when the themes are painful or challenging) that the author forgets to tell a good story, but that certainly didn't happen here. The characters are rich and vivid, and their growth over time feels organic and realistic. Excellent discussion fodder without being overwrought, and nicely done.
