"Tell me." I loved it when he was like this.
"I'm going to be the first." He took my palm and held it to his. "Swear it."
"Why me?"
"Because you're the reason. Swear it."
"I swear it," I said, lost in the high color of his cheeks, the flame in his eyes.
"I swear it," he echoed.

This book is super beautiful!!!!!!! I thought Circe (first book of Madeline Miller that I've read) is good, but this one is incredible!!! Poetic, mesmerizing love story between Achilles and Patroclus. I never read anything about their relationship before so this book is very refreshing to me. This book tells a well know story from a different perspective. It is exciting and heartbreaking all at once and definitely makes me want to read more about Greek mythology. I really recommend this book.

Amazing book, I loved it so much. I hope Miller keeps writing all these stories so I can experience them in a modern voice. These myths and stories are so intricate, so complex and so symbolic. There are so many layers and now we can enjoy them without wading through the seaweed of the language of antiquity. 5 million stars.
