This is another one I read about once every year or so. I definitely agree with some of Rand's philosophy, such as everyone in a society contributing in some way, whatever their talent or capacity might be. But some things she says strike me as so wrong. There is no room in her world for compassion or charity or selflessness. I think she glorifies "egoism"--in my experience, people who spend so much time focused solely on themselves and their needs, to the ignoring or rejecting the needs of peop ...more
