Mitchell's writing is compelling; she seems to make the characters come to life on their own. The story is complex, problematic, and powerful, uniquely catching the reader's attention. All these qualities, make this novel one of those that every book lover needs to read at least once in his life.

I really recommend this book.
It reads so well and is so interesting -for this book is one of the most poignant studies of gender that I've read. It's fascinating, detailed and symbolic. Gender inequality and gender roles is tied up in almost every page. It's hard to get into details without writing a tome.
