Rereading this for ReadingChristie2022- not my favorite Poirot, but this book has one of the craziest red herrings ever :D
The book focused more on the Abernethie family, a typical dysfunctional Christie family, and not focused too much on Poirot's investigation. I think perhaps Christie was a bit bored with Poirot when writing this book, so she only gave him a small portion ;)

I love the twist Christie brings into this one - she plays off of the reader's expectations about how a detective story works and uses that as her manipulative springboard to great effect. Even so many years later, her work reads as cleverly as ever.
