The books in this series just get better and better. Sure, at heart it's a simple romance, but so much better than your run-of-the-mill romance. The characters are real, complex, they have believable motivations, and they aren't all classically handsome/beautiful.

I was definitely chuffed when I saw that this was the February selection for the history book club - Willig is fast becoming a favorite author of escapist fare for me. While I wasn't as keen on the mystery in this one, the relationship between Mary and Vaughn is a charmer - I always root for crankypants people to find romance.
