Not nearly as good as the Goldfinch but it kept my interest until the end.

Richard papen begins attending Hampden College and becomes a student of Julian Morrow, a professor of Greek with only 5 other students. From the beginning of the book the reader knows that one of the students is murdered. About half of the book leads up to the murder and the rest covers the aftermath. I really disliked all the characters in this book so I can't rate it any higher. The whole book is bleak and depressing and somewhat pointless. ...more
