This series is just the light, pandemic summer reading fare needed. If only the reading of the book could be done on the beach, but not this unusual summer.

This book is fun and easy to read and if you're looking for a detective book with a different type of detective this is a good choice. I'm sure I will read more Phryne Fisher mysteries in my life but I don't feel like I have to run and read the next one right now. ...more

Phryne Fisher has decided to stay in Australia running her investigation business so she has bought a house, adding a delightful couple as her cook and butler/chauffeur. This time around Phryne is investigating the murder of the horrible William McNaughton, found with his head bashed in on his tennis court. She also becomes involved in the kidnapping of six year old Candida. I like Phryne and the supporting characters. I do wish there had been more connection between the two cases to tie the boo ...more
