I had a love/hate relationship with this book. In the beginning, I just loved all of the detail he used in bringing the late Victorian era to life. But after a couple of hundred pages, it got a little old.
Aside from that, I did enjoy the book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a non-fiction read.

Very good, story was amazing and surprising. It seems as though people look back to the old days as the "good old days", yet evil people have been murdering and mutilating always. The ease with which the protagonist works the system and provincials is amazing, and that anyone was ever caught and prosecuted in this era is a miracle.
