I read this one in high school and listened to it on audio this time around. A great book, but in light of things that I've read over the years (eg, East of Eden, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn), TKAM moves out of my top 5 list and down into the top 10.
I get it and liked it, but I felt like I was slogging through it this time. Maybe it was Sissy Spacek as reader - maybe it wasn't - who knows? All I do know is that the book didn't resonate with me like it did the first time that I had read it. ...more

Quite touching at the end, worth reading. Another book to add to my knowledge and disgust of pure racism all those years ago.
This was the best non sci-fi/fantasy book I have read in quite some time. It made me think, too! What a gift!
