I don't think I've read Flannery O'Connor since "A Good Man is Hard to Find" in an old English class. These tales from the 50s and 60s are dark and intriguing from not only a humanistic standpoint, but historical.

The prejudices and language seem so antiquated and harsh, it causes me to wonder what ideas and concepts I hold dear and cling to will be illuminated as myopic and harsh in 50 years.
