What Members Thought

My first Cormac McCarthy book. Will not be my last one.
Haunting and beautifully written. The Road is a minimalist, post-apocalyptic novel filled with sparse dialogue and lyrical prose. The novel focuses on the journey of a father and son. Very powerfully written.
I read it slowly, over a few weeks, and only when the setting was right. It was overwhelmingly dark. It was a stark and unflinching exploration about love, survival, and what it means to carry on.

Really want to give 4 stars but the depressing tone was too dark. Very detail and a bit slow, yet very very haunting. i think i'm gonna go see the movie version.
