What Members Thought
When we can shoot individuals from a drone with hellfire missiles, the romanticized thoughts of the brave soldier have been replaced with the invincible first person shooter video games. (The most dangerous part of work for the drone operators is the commute.) I'm guessing this is why the book seems so dated to me. The horrors of war have morphed in a century and a half, the only thing that hasn't is our potential for inhumane and cruel violence for political causes.
